Johnna Garbrick had two assists and Trista Barneradding one assist. The Lady Wildcats ammassed 30 shots on goal and 13 corner kicks forcing the Tyrone keeper to accumulate 14 saves on the night.

That stat was erased Saturday eveneing after a hard fought game at Malinak Stadium where the Wildcats and the Millionaires spent the vast majority of the contest tied … both on the field with their respective efforts and with the score as well. Though Williamsport prevailed with a 2-1 final score, I’m sure Coach Stauffer and the squad will work in earnest to make sure the streak is shortlived.

In all 575 brave souls completed the 24+ mile course. Surprisingly, many of the participants managed very bright smiles on the day even though the weather did not offer a more pleasurable experience.

Hundreds of volunteers also turned out to support the event and also braved the elements to make it all possible. Truly a team effort. Congrats to all involved.

James Conway (147) of Mill Hall and Alan Evans (218) of Beaver Dams, NY were neck-and-neck when they reached the halfway point of the 24-mile BaldEagle Mountain Megatransect last Saturday. The chilly rain dapened the trail but not the spirit of the runners and hikers participating as many could still manage a smile when they reached Zindel Park. Conway place third overall with a time of 4:37:14.77 which was the best effort of any Clinton County resident. Evans placed second overall with a time of 4:35:17.16.

Bridget Glenn of Lock Haven had the best time for a female participant hailing from Clinton County. Glenn finished 97th overall with a time of 6:49:52.53.

Leonard Gugino of Mill Hall was confused while running the the Megatransect … or his fashion consultant could have a problem keeping up with the calendar … We’re not sure if Gugino was on his way to the spring formal or not … but who wears while after Labor Day. Gugino completed the course in 7:05:43.33 and finished 121st overall.

Jarrett, who was a cheerleader for the Wildcats, favorite color was orange … so orange was a big part of the theme at Malinak Stadium worn by the cheer squad, band members and fans.
